About this policy

This website, bmountrmt.ca, is run by Brian Mount, Registered Massage Therapist, at WholeBody Living, #210 – 2223 West Broadway, Vancouver, BC V6K 2E4. This policy explains what personal information the website collects, why, and how it is protected. I follow British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), and I am the person responsible for the personal information described here.

This policy covers this website only. When you book a session, your booking details and any appointment records are kept in Jane, my clinic management system, and are handled under Jane’s privacy policy.

Keeping information safe

The website uses a secure (HTTPS) connection, two-step login for administrators, security monitoring and regular updates and backups. Only I, and my web support provider when needed to maintain the site, can access form messages.

What I collect and why

  • Contact form. Your name, email address, phone number (if you give it), the topic you choose and your message, so I can reply to you.
  • Emails and phone calls. If you contact me directly, I keep what you send me so I can respond.
  • Website statistics. I use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used: pages visited, approximate location (city level), device and browser type, and how you found the site. This information is not used to identify you by name.
  • Security. My web host and the website’s security and spam protection tools record technical details such as your IP address and browser type to block spam and protect the site from attacks.

Who helps me run this website

I never sell, rent or trade your personal information. I use a small number of trusted service providers, and some of them store or process information outside Canada, where it may be subject to the laws of that country:

  • Google Analytics (Google, United States) provides website statistics.
  • Google Maps and Google Fonts (Google, United States). The map and the website’s fonts load from Google, so your browser shares your IP address with Google when you view the site.
  • FastComet hosts the website and its form messages.
  • Brevo (based in France) delivers the website’s own emails, such as contact form notifications.
  • Jane handles everything after the booking link: online booking, intake forms, billing and automated communications regarding your appointments (reminders, appointment changes, receipts, etc.).

Cookies

Cookies are small files your browser stores. This site uses cookies from Google Analytics to count visits and understand how pages are used, and Google Maps may set its own cookies when the map loads. The site’s own login cookies are only used by people managing the website. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The site works without them.

How long I keep information

  • Contact form messages: copies stored on the website are deleted automatically after 12 months. Emails are kept only as long as needed to help you and for reasonable business records.
  • Website statistics: kept by Google according to the retention setting on my Analytics account (no longer than 14 months).
